Trent Teinert

My name is Trenton Teinert, I am currently in my last year in the Photography/Digital Media program at University of Houston. My current work focuses on connections to my hometown, and the lack of care that I had for it while in my youth and living there. Now coming back I have grown a new respect for my town. My eye is drawn to the architecture and more specifically recently, the great agriculture facilities that Harlingen was built from.

Harlingen, TX

Moving away from home for the first time takes a toll on anyone. It's crazy, the cliche saying, "You never know what you have till you don't" is the best way I know how to explain my feelings about my home town.

Not that I don't like where I am physically or mentally currently, but it is just a certain feeling, or mood I get into being in Harlingen walking around shooting that can never be replicated. I'm not trying to document simply what or how Harlingen, TX looks... however I'm expressing how I feel and what Harlingen means to me, how my mind and eye work together to capture this, and the joy it brings me being home.
